1978
Founded in 1978 as British American Auto Care by England native Brian England, the auto repair shop quickly established its reputation for quality auto repair backed by 5-Star customer service.
1980
To stay current with what people in Columbia were driving for transportation, Brian and his wife Jennifer used a pre-Internet marketing tactic: driving around town and creating a database of the cars they saw in resident’s driveways. This market research proved highly successful and British American soon added Japanese and European cars to their already impressive service list.
1990
After outgrowing their space in Columbia’s first Auto Park on Dobbin Road, British American Auto Care expanded and moved to a larger, more modern facility on Snowden River Parkway.
2000
British American establishes itself as a pioneer in innovative car care by creating a preventive program for customers instead of just repairing cars when they broke down. The company moved, designed, and built their own modern auto repair facility at their current location on Berger Road.
2010
Daughter Sandi Weaver takes over as General Manger of the company as the second generation takes a leadership role in the business.
2015
In August of 2015, British American revolutionizes the auto repair industry by dramatically reducing its carbon footprint. In addition to its 18 bays and state-of-the-art technology, 185 solar panels on the roof supply every watt of energy used in the shop.
2017
In 2017, British American Auto Care changed its name to BA Auto to make sure customers know that that they service more than just British and American cars.
2023
On July 3, 2023, BA Auto Care, Columbia Maryland’s award-winning independent auto repair shop, celebrates a milestone - 45 years of keeping customer vehicles on the road and in top operating condition.
