Autonomous Vehicles are slowly being introduced around the country but so far there isn’t a fully autonomous vehicle that you can buy. The introduction to vehicles that are autonomous will be in stages from “0” meaning a vehicle without any driver assist systems to “5” indicating a fully autonomous vehicle. At this time, there are only a couple of high end vehicles at level 3 or 4.

You don’t have to wait to take advantage of these amazing electronic features that can keep you safe. Here are the features that are on many vehicles right now:

  1. Parking sensors
  2. Surround view
  3. Lane departure warning light or audible
  4. Blind spot warning
  5. Forward collision warning
  6. Pedestrian warning
  7. Night vision
  8. Rear or pedestrian and traffic alert

Many other new cars, while not autonomous have autonomous features. Some of these features are a Level 1 feature that allow the car to take over only specific functions from the driver. They include:

  1. Adaptive Cruise Control
  2. Emergency Brake Assist
  3. Automatic Brake Assist
  4. Lane keeping and lane centering
