The Curious Case of the Strange Car Smell

by Brian England on October 8, 2019

Sometimes, being a good auto repair technician means channeling your inner Agatha Christie and solving a mystery.  This is precisely what happen to us recently when one of our customers brought in his car, complaining of smelling a strange odor.

After exploring all the typical problem areas like the heater and cabin filter and finding no solution to the horrible smell emanating from the vehicle, we called back the customer to get authorization to dive deeper in search of further clues to the problem.

Josh, one of our top techs, dove in and found mold throughout the heating and ventilation system.  We cleaned out the mold, replaced the evaporator core and filter.  We cleared the air and solved another auto mystery.
